When Planimate loads a bitmap (BMP) into an icon, it generates a transparency mask for the icon by treating all pixels with R,G and B values of 188 (0xBC hex) as transparent.

If a bitmap name ends with #, Planimate wont generate a mask for the bitmap and it will be all opaque. This might be desirable for digital photos with a lot of light grey shades in them.
