A broadcast is a type of message that can be sent to many objects in the model at once. This is a list of all the broadcasts that are defined in the model. The modeller can create broadcast entries to receive these broadcasts.

Each broadcast has a name and index, like a normal Label.

The list in this dialog has the following columns:

Name
The name of the broadcast. Names starting with an underscore (_) are broadcasts defined and sent by Planimate. These provide useful notifications to the modeller, particularly related to the user interface. Modeller added broadcasts will also appear in this list. The modeller should not name broadcasts with leading underscores.

Index
The index for the broadcast. This is useful when the modeller sends a broadcast from a routine.

Sources
Indicates how many objects in the model send this broadcast. Further detail on the sources is shown when a line is selected.

Listeners
Indicates how many objects in the model receive this broadcast. Further detail on the listeners is shown when a line is selected.

The Add button enables a new broadcast to be created. This is used to create modeller defined and controlled broadcasts.

The Edit button edits the currently selected broadcast.
