Colour Palette Management

A palette is used to select colours for paint objects, graph lines and backgrounds.

Here you can review the currently loaded colour palette. It is arranged as 4 banks of 16 colours. The colours in the first bank are fixed. You can customise the other 3 banks using the Edit button next to them.

Hovering over a colour will show its name (if one has been assigned). This is read from the "_system colors" label list. (you can also customise this label list by editing it in the label lists dialog, accessible from the menubar). The dropdown list enables you to review the colour indicies and the names assigned from the list. Model code can use these indicies to assign colours dynamically.

The File button enables loading and saving of the colour palette. This lets you transfer palettes between models. It does not save the colour names.

You might find it useful to use one of the banks to define colours by purpose rather than by the name of the colour. That makes it easier to pick the colour and to update your model's colour scheme.
