PMB Files - Models and databases in one

Modellers can save a model as a "Planimate Model Bundle" or PMB file.

PMB Files are DB files which contain the MDL within them, so there is only one file to deal with instead of two.

Unlike standalone EXEs the model is not saved encrypted and they do not get all resources referenced in other DB files included. They are intended as a convenient way of packaging a normal model/DB together (eg: for emailing or archiving).

PMBs are created from the File Menu "Save And Create Model Bundle" option.

Doing a normal save on a model which was loaded from a PMB will save a separate MDL and DB file.
Saving into a PMB also saves the MDL and DB since this is part of the PMB creation process.

Planimate can load PMB files from its file browser but you have to change the file type in the Load File dialog to see them.

Its not recommended that you work from and save to PMBs during normal model development. Use it only when you are ready to package the model and its database.

PMB files are used as containers for modules.

You can associate PMB files with Planimate so they open on a double click. In Windows Explorer right click a PMB file, select Open With and then find / browse to the Planimate EXE.
