Exits can be configured in one of 3 major modes of operation.

Normal Item Exit
The item is destroyed at the exit. Additional options in the exit enable it to take further action after a certain number of items are destroyed.

Broadcast Item
The item is Broadcast to the entire or part of the model before it is destroyed at the exit. This can be used to schedule further activities or updates throughout a model as a result of an item taking this exit.

Wormhole Exit
In this mode the exit does not destroy the item but rather "teleports" it to a Wormhole Entry which must be linked to the Wormhole Exit. Using wormholes is a very advanced feature which enables the normal hierarchical flow of items in a model to be circumvented. Unlike other exit modes, wormhole exits have the ability to block an item from entering if the object following the Wormhole Entry does not accept the item.
