In this dialog you set up comparisons between values and make conditional decisions based on the comparisons.
A comparison consists of a comparison type and the two values being compared. These appear as buttons that you click to set. The comparison type button lets you select <, <=, >, <> etc. The values to the left and right of this button are specified using Attribute References. You can compare attributes, table cells, system attributes, labels and constants. You can not compare rows, columns or tables.
Comparisons can be combined together using logical operations such as AND, OR and XOR. Click the “---“ button to select a logical operation and you can then set up another comparison. Another “---“ button will appear under that so you can extend the condition further.
Clicking the small button at the left of each comparison line lets you duplicate or delete that line. This also duplicates or deletes the logical combiner under the line.
At the bottom left a “summary” of the condition is displayed, enabling the logic and brackets to be quickly reviewed. The values being compared are not shown, just placeholder letters.
You can use the copy and paste buttons to copy the condition to a different place in the model.
Clicking the Report button will write out the condition in full to a notepad file which can then be copy/pasted into reports and documentation.
Conditions are evaluated in the order they are displayed unless you use brackets. You can use the small buttons to the left and right of each condition line to add and remove them. If the brackets are not properly “balanced” then a message appears at the bottom left of the dialog explaining the problem and Planimate will not allow you to “OK” the condition.
